Forever i imagine!
I have underfloor heating throughout the house under carpet and ceramic tiles…
If i crank it up to maximum it takes maybe 4 hours to heat up and 4 hours to cool down once i switch it off… Pretty disappointed with it.
If i have a window open and there is a bit of a draft it won’t heat up at all!
Its a quality system too :/
I think the idea is that you have it running 24/7.

Under floor heating is designd to be on at a low level for long periods as stone is not a good conductor of heat you should find it does take a long time to warm up but it will keep it’s heat for a long time .early morning timers are normaly the best way to go with this type of heating.

I tried mine ( professionally fitted about 3 months ago in the Shower room) on 75 degrees for 4 hours and it was only just detectable. ( not just once, but on a number of occasions)
I have now “binned” it and use the hot air blower in there instead.
It was a complete waste of money.

It depends on the insulation under the electric heating mat and the heat loss of the room and floor area of room. What wattage is the mat?
Electric underfloor heating is OK for small areas. But always go for underfloor central heating (plastic pipes from your boiler central heating) for larger areas, as its quicker to heat and cheaper to run.
I have fitting electric mats under wet room floor tiles, It takes 45 Min’s to heat up (but i used 100mm insulation under the Mat and the wet rooms are also well insulated, so the heat loss for the room is very low.
